FIVE STEPS TO GET YOUR FRIENDS OUT TO SEA

Over the years, we've come across a few unique types of Yacht Weekers.

There are those who just 'get it'. A week in paradise - sun, sail, drink, party, meet incredible people and see the world on a yacht. Nothing more to know.

There are others who take the plunge, not knowing what to expect, and come out of it having had the best week of their lives.

Then there's those on the fence - they need a little push, a nudge, something to convince them that what they're signing up to is nothing short of life-changing.

Here's where we come in.

If you're the lead planner in your group of friends, and want others to share your enthusiasm about a Yacht Week summer, here are five of our sure-fire ways to do it.

#1: Give them destination digests.

Show, don't tell. That's the first step to get the friends on board. We've put together destination guides that unpack the parties, showcase our themes and include videos of Yacht Week guests having the time of their lives.

🇮🇹 Show your friends Sicilian sunsets set against a volcano. And hikes up the majestic Stromboli.

🇬🇷 Familiarise them with the Mediterranean feasts (and mythological parties) they can expect to have in Greece.

🇭🇷 And if it's Croatia you've got your eye on, there's so much beauty in the coastlines alone, you'll start getting confirmations minutes after you've shown them our guide.

#2: Explain why it's the best way to celebrate.

We're born to live. And then, life gets in the way. You know this better than any besties on the fence - Yacht Week pulls you away from the grind for one glorious week of celebration.

When it comes to group gatherings, we blow everything out of the water. Birthdays, graduations, even bachelorettes, are better with Yacht Week at the helm. And with automatic payment splits for groups, the trip's also much easier to finance.

So if there's special news, a big announcement or you just want your favourite people to know what's it's like to truly live in the moment - there's no better place to do it than the Mediterranean ocean.

#3: Show them morning, noon and night.

Waking up to a new view everyday. Sleeping under the stars. There's nothing quite like it.

But if you've got friends who wonder what happens between those hours, we've got reels that get right into the action.

Here's a sampler for the unconvinced.

⛵️ Living the good life 24/7.

🌅 Surrounded by views that defy beauty.

🌸 The Yacht Week 'Summer of Love'.

#4: Let 'em hear what others have to say.

Came for the scenery, found the love of their lives.

Booked a host on board and ate gourmet-level meals while they sailed. Never found another experience like it.

Discovered how low they could go at limbo and won a bottle of champers (and enough public adulation to last a lifetime).

There are a million reasons why Yacht Week finds a special place in our guests' hearts. Got friends who want to know what it was like for a first-timer? Or what it was like to upgrade yachts, get a host, or even get a private sailing lesson from a skipper?

Point them to our Trustpilot, so they can see what's in store for them.

#5: FOMO (but bullying also works well).

We're talking twisting arms and constant looks of disapproval.

Alright, maybe FOMO's the better route to go down.

If you've followed steps one through to four and don't get a firm yes from the crew, then it's important to let them know they're missing out - especially on recreating iconic 90s imagery (minus the Hoff).

We're talking missing out on circle rafts (aka the eye of the sea - the iconic Yacht Week symbol of the seas).

We're talking missing out on headliner DJs spinning rap, hip-hop, reggaeton, disco, house and soundtracking the entire week with lush tunes.

And, we hate to say it, but missing out on travelling across history itself - from islands used as a backdrop for Game of Thrones to towns where Gladiators roamed, Odysseys set sail and Greek mythology was cemented.
