Our Turkey Adventure

Not sure if you guys have heard but we are heading to the Turquoise Coast next summer! Think crystal blue sea, epic food, shisha and banging parties with our resident DJs. We sent some of our team out to sea to scout out the best of the best, let's find out what they thought about the stunning coastline. 

How did you spend the week?

We started our week off in Gocek which has one of the most stunning marina we’ve ever seen. Dotted with ice cream shops and loads of bars, the marina is surrounded by luscious green mountains which isn’t what we were expecting at all! Once on the yacht we were able to drift up the Gocek coastline which enabled us to sample many of the beach clubs and waterside bars, as well as take in the stunning natural bays. Of course, there was even time for a quick swim just to make sure we got the full experience! 

Then onto Fetihye, we headed out to the vibrant old town which was full of bars and restaurants that were open until the early hours. There was no shortage of kebab or mezze style restaurants, and we even managed to sneak in some of the famous Baklava as well! During the day, we popped down to some of the boutique resort hotels which are home to some amazing pools and exquisite meal options which offered a chance to relax away from the marina life. 

Ölüdeniz was a crowd favourite. You can see why it is one of the beaches in Turkey. It is a protected lagoon with crystal clear waters going on for days. There was a real sense of luxury at the beach bar, with the funkiest music going on from their live band. The town was bustling until the early hours of the morning with plenty clubs to explore. A real taste of Turkey with a splash of luxury.

How is Turkey perfect for TYW?

The venues in Turkey were stunning, think boujee beach bars on gorgeous soft yellow sand with an endless turquoise backdrop. Just bliss. Bringing the coast to life with all of our travellers from all over the world, you just know that it will create something very majestic. Food is such a huge part of the culture in Turkey, everyone coming together to enjoy a feast, as well as the company of their loved ones. We felt a real sense of community, and family, two things which we hold very close at The Yacht Week. 

What did you love about Turkey?

Everything! Cruising the coast, swimming with turtles and finding the elusive pancake lady were some of the major highlights. There is something magical about Turkey that feels different to our other destinations, beautifully remote, and most importantly they sure know how to throw a party. Each different destination has its own quirks and the locals are super welcoming - and don’t even get me started on the food. 

Overall, what was your favourite part?

The Turkish sunsets. We were sailing from island and island in the evening and the water was completely flat like glass. It had that mirror effect and reflected the sunset off the water.
